A reworked Wildcard mode, a golden Gibraltar Prestige Skin, and 24 new cosmetics arrive August 18 across three maps.
Respawn Entertainment is sending players on a mythological rampage starting next week. Ascended Hunt kicks off August 18 and runs for three weeks, through September 8, centered on a reworked take on Wildcard and a golden Prestige Skin many players have been asking for.
The premise: ancient power has seeped into the Outlands, and Legends who tap into it gain temporary abilities that snowball the longer they stay alive.
Players choose from six EVO Enhancing Wild Cards on landing — options that boost things like crit chance, shield regeneration, lifesteal, and movement tech such as mantle and slide boosts. Collecting EVO during the match upgrades whichever card is equipped, and additional card slots unlock as the game goes on, rewarding survival with escalating power.
Wildcard: Ascended Hunt rotates across three maps during the event — Kings Canyon, E-District, and Broken Moon — giving the mode some geographic variety rather than sticking to a single arena.
Gibraltar's new “Apex Bruddah” Prestige Skin arrives in gold, fire-themed armor across three unlockable tiers, complete with a matching Finisher and Dive Trail. Prestige skins have become one of the more coveted reward types in Apex, since they require significant grinding to fully upgrade, and Gibraltar's entry continues that tradition.

Beyond the Prestige Skin, the event adds two dozen new cosmetics under the limited-time Ascended Hunt Collection, available for direct purchase or as a possible pull from Event Packs.

Players who'd rather grind than spend can work through the event's Reward Shop by earning Marks in-game. The shop's early offerings include an Epic Mad Maggie skin, a new banner frame, crafting metals, and Event Packs, with more unlocking as the weeks progress.
