GTA VI's Extended Look Is Out, and November 19 Still Stands
Rockstar's first proper gameplay showcase premiered on Netflix, then hit YouTube free for everyone six hours later. Here's what it actually showed.
Rockstar Games premiered Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look as a Netflix exclusive on Thursday, August 27 at 3 p.m. ET, then released the same video free on its own YouTube channel and the official Grand Theft Auto VI site six hours later, at 9 p.m. ET. Netflix describes the footage as captured entirely from in-game PlayStation 5 gameplay. The reveal runs about 26–27 minutes and is the longest look at the game so far, following two shorter trailers over the past few years.

The footage follows protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos through a job for a strip-club owner named Boobie Ike that goes sideways when police raid the building, forcing a third-person shootout and an escape through the building. Elsewhere it shows the pair's everyday life together in Vice City — getting ready for a party, talking about their relationship — alongside additional combat, driving, robberies, and general exploration across Leonida.
It's the first extended, in-game look at combat and enemy behavior rather than curated cinematic trailer shots, though early reactions are split: some outlets are impressed by Vice City's presentation while finding the mission structure itself fairly familiar Rockstar territory.

GTA VI is confirmed for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and multiple outlets report the game runs at 30 FPS on both base consoles, with no confirmation yet on whether a PS5 Pro-enhanced mode will change that. First-person mode is reportedly not available at launch; Photo Mode is included.
The reveal landed the same week as a string of unauthorized gameplay leaks attributed to a group calling itself CyberLeek. Rockstar has said the Netflix premiere and November 19 release date are unaffected, and Take-Two has filed DMCA subpoenas against several platforms in an effort to identify the source.
