D.Mon Joins the MEKA Squad in Heroes of Busan

A shield-and-sword mech pilot, three reworked maps, and a Battle Pass you can finally clear out of order.

Blizzard launched Season 4 of Overwatch's "Reign of Talon" story arc on August 11, subtitled Heroes of Busan. The season runs through October 5 and centers on a new tank hero: D.Mon, a MEKA Squad pilot who fights alongside D.Va rather than replacing her.

D.Mon's mech trades D.Va's mobility-focused kit for a shield and sword, giving Overwatch's tank roster a more traditional frontline option. Where D.Va boosts around the map and self-destructs, D.Mon looks built to hold a line and absorb damage directly — a genuinely different playstyle rather than a reskinned variant.

Three Maps, Reworked

Season 4 also brings reworks to Eichenwalde, Paraíso, and Busan — three maps that have been in rotation since early in the game's life. Blizzard hasn't published the specific layout changes in detail yet, but a three-map rework in one season is a larger content push than Overwatch typically ships per update.

The Battle Pass also changed shape this season. Tiers can now be completed in any order instead of a strict linear sequence, which should make the pass feel less like a grind gate and more like a checklist players can chip away at based on what challenges they actually want to do.

Worth Knowing

Blizzard shipped a hotfix on August 14, three days after launch, addressing several bugs introduced with the season — including a Portable Fusion Repeater hit-registration issue and a bug where Limit Break wasn't correctly granting Overhealth. Worth knowing if you ran into either of those in your first few matches of the season.

Reign of Talon Season 4 runs through October 5, 2026, on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch 2.
