PUBG Finally Gets DLSS and FSR

Update 43.1 adds real upscaling on PC, plus a kick button, swimming with your sidearm out, and an LMG nerf nobody's going to cry about.

Update 43.1 landed on PC September 9, and the thing everyone's actually going to notice is DLSS and FSR finally showing up in the settings menu. Head to Settings > Graphics > Advanced and you'll find NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 and AMD FSR 4.1 as real options — pick a quality tier yourself or let the game guess based on your resolution.

About Time

The options only show up once Anti-Aliasing is set to Medium or higher, and what you can actually pick depends on your card. Nothing fancy about the implementation, but PUBG has been stuck on plain TAA since forever, so this is one of those "should've had it years ago" updates rather than a small tweak.

Worth noting: NVIDIA's driver from the same week name-drops "PUBG's forthcoming DLSS Super Resolution update" directly in its own notes. Not a coincidence.

What Else Shipped

You can now kick people. Unarmed, right-click, and you'll shove opponents back or bust through doors, windows, and fences instead of just standing there awkwardly. Swimming got a real pass too — sidearms and throwables work in the water now, swim speed is up 25%, and boats finally take consistent gunfire damage instead of whatever inconsistent mess they had before. There's also a new carry/instant-use system for ground items and a parachute rebalance that changes when auto-deploy kicks in.

LMGs got hit hard. Slower ADS across the board, less vehicle damage on the M249, RPD, and MG3, and spawn rates for the M249/RPD cut by 30%. KRAFTON's own line is that the class was "having a greater impact than intended" after last month's buffs — which, if you've been getting mowed down by RPDs lately, tracks.

Worth Knowing

If you've been playing PUBG raw with no upscaler this whole time, this update actually changes what your card can push. Once we've got real benchmark numbers with DLSS/FSR turned on, our FPS Calculator will show what it's actually worth on your setup.

Update 43.1 is live now on PC. Console gets it September 17.
