Season 9.5's final content drop pulls both costumes straight from the animated series' Season 2 finale, alongside a new Ultron bundle and a free Cyclops customization option.

NetEase pushed the Version 20260903 update to Marvel Rivals on September 3, with the new store items unlocking September 4 at 2:00 AM UTC. The headline additions are Epic-rarity X-Men '97 Season 2 bundles for Rogue and Gambit, pulling both looks directly from specific moments in the animated series — Rogue's is based on her Celestial form from the Season 2 finale, while Gambit's draws from his own transformation later in the same run.
There's a catch worth knowing before buying either bundle: NetEase confirmed the MVP animations aren't included at launch. Anyone who already owns the complete eligible bundle when that update lands will get the MVP addition for free, so there's no reason to wait on the base purchase if you want the skins now.
Alongside the Rogue and Gambit bundles, the update adds an Ultron — B-Boy Prime bundle and an X-Men '97 Season 2 Emoji Bundle. Ultron's Chroma variant (Caramel Crew/Mustard Beat) and its Ultimate Ability VFX unlock the same day as the main bundles. Cyclops also picked up a small free customization option on his Elegant Eye costume — a Cape: Removed toggle, for anyone who prefers the streamlined look.
The Take a Seat emote, previously limited to a handful of heroes, now supports Jubilee as well. No hero balance changes shipped in this patch — it's a pure content and cosmetics update.
This closes out Season 9.5's X-Men '97 crossover, which kicked off with The Hood's arrival back in August. With Season 10 confirmed for a September 11 launch, this is likely the last cosmetic wave before the season turns over.
